Elvire Volk Design grew from a simple idea: home improvement should feel like design, not disruption. We plan kitchens, bathrooms, living rooms, and storage around the people who use them, then bring carpenters, finishers, and trade specialists together so the result is one coherent space.

How We Improve A Home

Every project starts with a conversation about daily life: how breakfast actually happens, where coats land, which bathroom is always busy, and which room never feels finished. Heritage details, favourite furniture, and well-built joinery are honoured rather than stripped for the sake of newness.

Design then moves through layout options, material boards, and a written scope. You see how a kitchen island might steal a walkway, or how a bathroom vanity could hide laundry. Lighting is planned with the finishes, not added afterwards. When the household approves a direction, we prepare a schedule that protects living areas still in use.

On site, protection, dust control, and daily tidy-downs matter as much as the visible work. We keep a snag list alive until small items are closed, then share care notes for stone, timber, paint, and fixtures so the improvement stays handsome for years.

What Guides The Studio

We choose materials that can be cleaned, repaired, and lived with. High-gloss trends are welcome when they suit a room, but we will also recommend calmer palettes when light, family life, or architecture asks for restraint. Sustainability for us is practical: keep good structure, specify durable surfaces, and avoid fittings that cannot be serviced.
